Basketball

At the end of February, we went to the last home BYU Basketball game with Chels and Rod.  We already did the football game for the year, so now it was time for a basketball game.  I made sure to have Pierre wear one of my BYU tshirts so he could show off some of his BYU pride.

Do we celebrate half birthdays? Yes.

I have decided that half birthdays should be celebrated.  I know alot of people don't even know or care when their half birthday is, but mine was yesterday on March 26th.  I made sure to tell everyone that it was my birthday (half) and I think I drove Pierre crazy from talking about it so much.  He was a trooper though and gave me some roses for my half birthday.  What a sweet husband.

I had Jordan, Jessica, Chelsea and Rodney over for dessert and made these delicious brownies.   If you like Heath Bars, you should try them. The recipe is here. I am glad they came and supported me.

So add some spice to life and celebrate half birthdays!!

Valentine's Day

This February 14th was the first Valentine's Day of being married, and I would have to say it was great! Pierre got me the wonderful gift of divine chocolates and flowers. I did a 14 days of Valentine's where I gave him a small gift every morning from Feb 1 to Feb 14, which was so fun to do for him.

We took off from work a little early on the love day and headed down to Salt Lake. We had dinner at the Gateway mall, then headed over to the Energy Solutions Arena for the Lady Antebellum concert.  It was a total blast! We had been listening to Lady Antebellum for the previous 2 months anytime we drove anywhere, to prepare for it and get pumped up.  We had horrible seats at the concert, but definitely loved the atmosphere for the evening and singing along.  It was a successful and romantic way to celebrate our first Valentine's day.

Our Growing Family

Pierre and I would like to announce a new addition to our family.  His name is Zeus, he is a Saab SUV, he loves gasoline, and he arrived on February 21st.  We are loving him and it has been a lot of fun so far.  We can't wait to take a roadtrip now!

Spa Night

Pierre and I are lucky to have our evenings free, since we are both done with school and only work full time.  We make sure to take advantage of all the time we have together, since we know it won't always be like that. So...sometimes we get creative and do random things.  I had the wonderful idea of having a spa night the other week, which definitely included facials.  We sure have some fun times in our newlywed married life!

Christmas Break

Our Christmas Break was extra long this year, thanks to my sis Chelsea.  We went to her wedding the week before Christmas, so we had a 10 day vacation.  We left Provo and flew to St. Louis, MO, first to go to the wedding and reception.  It was a very nice wedding, and so fun to have Chelsea's wedding so soon after ours. The wedding was in St. Louis, and the reception in Kansas City.  It was a busy day, but very enjoyable.  After their wedding weekend, we drove to Kansas with the family. We had the entire week in Kansas full of total relaxation, Christmas movie watching, amazing family traditions, and TONS of eating. We loved every minute of it, and loved having a full house.   We were definitely spoiled on Christmas Day. The entire family was there on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.  It was great to bring Pierre home and have him experience our family traditions. Here are some pics from the vacation.

Jordan had the bright idea of making a Gingerbread House town.  That was quite the experience.

We made sure to visit the famous Freddy's while in Wichita.

Holy Stockings...  And that's still not all of them....

Love holiday baking with my mom!

Playing with the nieces.

5 Months

As of today, we have been married for 5 months! Even though that is not long at all, it seems like we have always been married and we have always been a part of eachother's lives.  I love being married and it has been better then I have ever imagined.  It is easy to be married to your best friend, and we look forward to find out what our life has in store for us - the good and the bad. I have learned a lot more about myself in the past 5 months, and how to be more selfless.  I love coming home after work and spending each night with my husband.  Marriage is the best!

This is a picture taken in December after we got our first real Christmas tree.

BYU Football

Well, since I am going through my pictures from the day we got married until now, the next event in line is from November.  Pierre and I were lucky enough to get really good seats to a home BYU football game. Since they were tickets from season ticket holders, we were able to go early to have a big feast, surrounded by many rich, byu people.  We then had snacks waiting for us at our wonderful seats. Even though it was a cold evening, we enjoyed the 'red carpet' service we received.  Pierre may not have joined me on the BYU cheers, but we still had a good time going to a football game together.

THE HONEYMOON

Well, it has begun.  Pierre and I have entered the blogging world. I figured this would be a fun way to keep all the family, all over the world, up to date on our life. So to begin our first post, we thought we should blog about our honeymoon.  I think most, if not everyone, was able to see wedding pictures and attend our wedding, so the honeymoon is where we shall begin!

After our first day and two nights in Park City, we left Monday morning to San Diego, CA.  We were there from Monday to Friday and it was a perfect week to be by ourselves and not have to plan a wedding anymore. We stayed at the Dana on Mission Bay, and were very pleased with it.  We had a perfect location: across the street from Sea World, in between two pools and hot tubs, 20 minute walk from Mission Beach, and our front door that opened up to a neat looking Marina. Here is a quick schedule of our week, as well as pictures!  Enjoy!

Monday: Flying into San Diego and exploring the resort

Tuesday: Seaport Village, Old Town & San Diego Temple

Wednesday: Sea World!  This was our favorite day.

Thursday: We walked to Mission Beach and then walked around our resort for the last night.

Friday:  We left beautiful San Diego and got back to Provo late at night. Even though it was late,  we still made time to open up all our gifts and cards from the reception.  We finally were able to live in our first apartment together.
