Life Changes

I don't like changes.  I should be more optimistic about it, but I just can't handle them very well.  Pierre and I had a recent life change.  We moved to Denver, CO.  It is actually a place called Northglenn that we moved to, but it is a suburb of Denver. We are about 15 miles north of downtown Denver.  We love the area, as we can see the mountains to the West, downtown skyline to the South, and the midwest plains to the East.  It is a really pretty area, so anyone who wants to visit, come on by!
It was so hard for me to leave our life in Provo. We moved because Pierre was offered a promising career opportunity here.  It is going well for him so far.  As for me, I have not found a new job yet.  (which I am okay with) I am trying to get used to not living by so many family and friends, and getting used to a totally new place.  We have had fun exploring Denver so far on the weekends, and are happy that we can live closer to family in Wichita.

Since I don't have a job yet, I have plenty of time to catch up on the past 2 months of blogging right?!  It seems I have gotten behind with the recent goodbyes, packing and moving.

St. George Getaway

We wanted to leave Provo for a weekend, and we needed to visit the St. George temple, so we took off for a weekend to St. George.  It was a kind of a last minte thing, which made it more fun.  We usually plan our lives far in advance.
We left early on a Saturday morning and headed the 3 1/2 hours to St. George.  We saw a couple of burnt, ugly mountains on the way from all the summer wildfires going on.
When we got to St. George, we ate lunch at Subway real quick, then headed to the temple.  It was a historic and older looking temple inside, and it was neat to visit a different temple again.  After the session and taking a few pictures around the temple, we headed to our hotel.  I love hotels, so I was stoked!  We took off to the swimming pool first to cool off from the nasty 109 degree weather.  Afterwards, we walked around the outlet mall and went to dinner at Chilis.  We also found a road up to a lookout point and saw out over the little town of St. George.
Once we got back to the hotel, the evening was full of complete relaxation, ice cream from Mcdonalds, a cold room from cranking up the a.c., and cable tv. Did I mention I love hotels?  I think it was the highlight of the weekend for me. The next day before heading back to Provo, we stopped at the visitors center.  It was a successful, last minute temple trip, and I hope we have many more.

I had to get a picture with a palm tree :)

Some of our Favorite People

Pierre and I may not have very many friends, but that is because we enjoy hanging out with family too much.  If we decide to hang out with other people, we always choose family to be with.  This summer we have been doing things with Jordan and Jessica alot.  We have so much fun with them.  One thing, out of many, that we did this summer was go to a baseball game.  I don't know if I remember much about the game, except that we had fun conversations and it was a nice night to be outside.  I hope we always live close to them.

BRANSON!

Last month was our Lewis Family Reunion at Branson, Missouri.  We have been talking about it and looking forward to it for a long time.  Pierre and I took off from Provo the weekend before, and drove to Wichita.  We were there for a couple of days, before taking off with my family to Branson.  We were in Branson from a Monday to a Friday.  We stayed in cabins, up in the Ozark area.  We were only a couple minutes from Silver Dollar City, which was the main reason we went to Branson.  There are about 80 people in the Lewis family, and around 50 were able to attend the reunion.
We spent two days at Silver Dollar City.  We did roller coaster rides, went to an evening concert, ate some good food, and had fun looking in all the neat stores.
Each night we were able to all gather around the pavillion by the cabins and talk.  We did a good amount of swimming too.
It was a fun, but fast week.  Pierre and I were definitely depressed when we had to drive back to Provo.  It was a memorable week, and a fun week to see all the Lewis relatives.  I loved being able to show Pierre around Silver Dollar City too.  We went there so many times when I was younger, so I was able to relive so many memories with my husband.

Waiting for the eveing show to begin.

The women :)  Love them all!

Taking the tram to Silver Dollar City. Love our matching shirts?

Almost the whole Barber family.

Waiting to enter the park.

After our first roller coaster ride for the day- We got more wet then we thought we would.

Wishin we were cowboys!

We bought a tater twist.  They had some fun food to eat.

Riding the kid rides with Weston and Ally and Chelsea.

We loved our Funnel Cake!  It was not only delicious, but so healthy :)

BYU Graduation Weekend

It was kind of awhile ago,(back at the end of April) but Pierre and I had a full weekend during graduation weekend. My parents came out to Provo, since Chelsea and Jessica were graduating from BYU.  We spent Thursday evening and all day Friday on campus, attending the graduation events.  It was neat to see them both graduate and cross the stage with big smiles.  I remember how that feels, and it sure is a happy day.  I can't believe I have been a graduate for 3 years now!
It was especially neat to see Chels graduate.  I have been out here with her, throughout her entire college career. We even had a class together and would study and work together when we were in school at the same time.  We have some great Provo memories for sure. I love that girl.
Here are some pics taken around campus, and also some from the graduation party we had for Chelsea, Jessica and Christine.  There were 3 graduates from the family this year, so we had to have a party for them.  We had a party up in Spanish Fork.  It was a great weekend, full of family and celebrations.

Next Temple Trip

Mt. Timpanogos was the next temple we visited for our temple goal this year. It was perfect weather that day, and as you can tell from the pictures, the sun was extra bright.  It is sometimes hard to get ourselves to go to the temple, but once we get there, we are always so happy that we went. One good thing about living in Utah, is that we always have temples close by.

Breaking Tradition

For the One Year Anniversary, the tradition is to eat the top of the wedding cake that has been sitting in the freezer since the wedding night.  Like tradition, we have had the top of our wedding cake in our freezer since October 8th. However, we did not wait an entire year before bringing it out.
Two weeks ago, Pierre and I were craving chocolate.  So instead of buying or making a dessert, we decided to bring out our wedding cake about 4 1/2 months early.  It still tasted great and we thoroughly enjoyed breaking the tradition.  It definitely brought back some fun wedding day memories too.  Happy Not Quite 1 Year Wedding Anniversary to us!
